I bought several backpacks from them

I bought several backpacks from them. One got broken real quick so I reached out and exchanged that one for a new model.But the new one is not as durable as they say. I use it for 3-day hikes 4-5 times per year. After 2 years it had several issues. I repaired and still keep it but I won't buy a new backpack from them anymore.

Very durable products

Of all the places I've shopped in Pittsburgh and Raleigh, REI is the place where things (outdoor goods, like shoes, bags, rain gear) really seems to last the longest. I've got a pair of shoes from them that lasted 8 years, a backpack that lasted 9 years, and some other things that haven't got any wear. So yes, they are expensive, but if it's good enough, well, expensive is OK as it lasts!

I love shopping my sport goods here

I love shopping my sport goods here. Very nice quality and always good customer service as well. The first time i visited the store i was surprised they have an area of returned items for sale and it's way cheaper. Of course every item comes with information of how long was it used.Also loved the discount I had for being a new member of their club or something!

REI saved Christmas

REI saved Christmas! Went above and beyond. My order was shipped around the 9th through USPS, tracking but no progress, I called REI on 12/20 and the had merchandise in stock and sent again overnight through UPS. I got my package today. Thank you so much, REI and UPS. Also having another package (other company) ordered 11/30 sent through USPS and no updates, with them I’ll just have to wait it out. No reviews on product yet but customer service is awesome!!!

But wish they would not use LaserShip

Have had awful experiences with LaserShip, so when I discovered REI had used LaserShip to send my Christmas purchase (I could tell it had been on the Lasership delivery truck for two weeks), I called REI customer service. Got a fast answer to my phone call! . . . 2 weeks before Christmas! They contacted LaserShip within an hour and my torn, opened, yet undamaged, gift was delivered 4 days later.

One of my favorite stores

One of my favorite stores. They have amazing bikes and camping gear and GoPros and other cool stuff. The clothes and shoes for outdoor sports are amazing. The only problem is they’re always out of stock. They have very limited sizing options and never buy the trail running shoes I want in my size. I don’t get why this is so hard to just carry the normal sizes. Jeez I just want to give you my hard earned money.

My goto store for anything outdoors

My goto store for anything outdoors. Everyone I've ever interacted with stores even in different states (California, Washington) are always very knowledgeable and are adventurers themselves, able to give expert advice on gear and recommendations for whatever activity you have in mind. Returns are always very easy, prices along with member dividends are unbeatable. If REI carries it I almost implicitly trust the product/brand. Their classes are also run by experts and you can learn a lot just about everything - everything from earthquake preparedness to backpacking gear. Also really appreciated how the management made sure to take paycuts in the recent COVID crisis to make sure their employees are still working - that is dedication. Will be a customer for many years to come.

While making a curbside pick up…

While making a curbside pick up on Oct 5th, I was greeted by a courteous employee to give my information. After waiting, the merchandise (a bicycle) was brought out and one again was greeted by a courteous employee, Jon K, who went above & beyond to assist in making sure the bicycle was secured on the bike rack for traveling. It is so nice to know that thru all this change, the employees of REI have kept their kindness and professionalism as a top priority as well as their health & safety. An exemplary company

I had to write a bad review this morning, and I felt the need to also write a positive review for a company that I think does a great job. First company that came to mind was REI. My experience there this weekend was, as always, stellar. This company just gets it. They are incredibly responsible about dealing with COVID19 in their stores, emphasizing safety and cleanliness. Their staff is always friendly and helpful. Their products are top of the line. And most of all, they stand by their products and provide outstanding customer support. A+ to REI!!

A member, devoured shopper and fan for 50 years.

I have been a cardmember since 1969, bought at the original(?) multi building store in Seattle. I have shopped at REI's across the West and Midwest and ordered online since then. I have always found REI carries quality brand name equipment. Their salespeople both online and in the stores are very helpful and their customer service is good, fast, and friendly. I use the 20% off deal that comes with each annual dividend to buy one major item such as a car rack or Patagonia down coat. Thanks to REI.
